Sai Kaew Beach

Koh Samet’s most famous beach offers a long soft white sand stretch. Convenient to reach but a lively spot.

The Atmosphere

Koh Samet never looks exactly the same twice. Its atmosphere is shaped by warm sea air, changing clouds, tropical light and the constant movement of the water.

Seasons

From November to February, the island is generally drier, less humid, and known for calmer seas. March to May feels warmer and brighter, while the green season from June to October often brings passing showers, dramatic clouds, and beautifully soft light.

Sunrise & Sunset

Most beaches are located along the east coast and are especially beautiful during sunrise and the softer morning hours. Ao Prao, on the west coast, is the island’s most popular location for watching the sun set directly over the sea.

Light

Early mornings and the final hour before sunset usually create the softest and most flattering conditions, while clouds can add gentle tones or a more dramatic atmosphere.

Changing Tides

Koh Samet’s tides do not follow a fixed morning-and-evening pattern. Depending on the date and moon, low tide may reveal wider beaches, rocks, and natural textures, while high tide brings the sea closer to the shore. Before every session, I check the local tide forecast to find the conditions that best suit our chosen location and atmosphere.

Timing

Weekdays are usually quieter and more peaceful, while weekends can feel livelier as more visitors arrive from the mainland. Choosing the right time helps us enjoy the island in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Why should you choose me?

Hello lovers!

I’m Maya Schuetz, an international wedding, proposal, couple, family and newborn photographer from Germany, now based near Koh Samet in Rayong, Thailand.

As an English-speaking photographer, I mainly work with international couples and families who want to preserve meaningful memories during their time on Koh Samet. Whether you are planning a surprise proposal, an intimate beach wedding, a sunset couple session or relaxed family photographs by the sea, I will help you choose a location and time that feel right for your story.

My photography is inspired by Koh Samet’s natural beauty: soft tropical light, white-sand beaches, rocky shores, changing tides and quiet moments beside the sea. Alongside digital photography, I am deeply drawn to analog film and its softness, imperfections and timeless character. I focus on minimalist compositions, natural movement and honest connection. Rather than creating stiff poses or chasing perfection, I offer gentle guidance while leaving space for genuine emotions, laughter and the small gestures that make your relationship unique.

  • Together, we will choose the right beach, timing, and atmosphere. I will consider the light, weather, tides, accessibility, and how busy each location may be.

  • Shortly before the session, we will confirm the meeting point, schedule, outfits, and any remaining details. I will also review the latest weather and local conditions.

  • I will guide you gently whenever needed while leaving space for natural movement, honest emotions, and moments that feel completely like you.

  • After carefully selecting and editing your images, I will deliver your private online gallery in high resolution, ready to download, share, and revisit for years to come.
