Your Experience

Have you ever dreamed of escaping to a tropical island with the person you love — running along the beach, sitting together on the rocks, holding hands, and breathing in the salty sea air?

These are the moments your photographs will bring back to you when you’re home again, curled up on the couch and remembering how it all felt. A natural experience where you can simply be yourselves. No stiff posing, no pressure. Just calm moments, gentle guidance, and timeless photographs that tell your story as it truly felt.

The Location

Why is Koh Samet the perfect location?

With its white-sand beaches, clear water, golden sunsets, and relaxed island atmosphere, Koh Samet creates a beautiful setting for proposals, weddings, and couple sessions. Every corner of the island offers a natural backdrop for intimate, timeless photographs.

Sai Kaew Beach

Koh Samet’s most famous beach offers a long stretch of soft white sand. It is easy to reach, but also one of the island’s livelier locations.

Ao Prao

Known for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful west-coast sunsets, Ao Prao creates an elegant setting for intimate weddings, proposals, and romantic couple sessions.

Ao Cho

With its curved sandy bay, calm surroundings, and characteristic wooden pier, Ao Cho offers a charming backdrop for relaxed and romantic photographs. Here some examples.

Ao Wai

Quiet, tropical, and surrounded by nature, Ao Wai is ideal for couples looking for a more private and peaceful island experience.

Ao Wong Duean

Its spacious crescent-shaped shoreline and relaxed resort atmosphere make Ao Wong Duean a beautiful choice for weddings, family sessions, and sunset walks by the sea.

Beyond these well-known beaches, Koh Samet is home to many smaller bays, rocky shores, and hidden corners. Together, we’ll choose a location that matches the atmosphere you envision for your story.

The Atmosphere

Koh Samet never looks exactly the same twice. Its atmosphere is shaped by warm sea air, changing clouds, tropical light and the constant movement of the water.

Seasons

From November to February, the island is generally drier, less humid, and known for calmer seas. March to May feels warmer and brighter, while the green season from June to October often brings passing showers, dramatic clouds, and beautifully soft light.

Sunrise & Sunset

Most beaches are located along the east coast and are especially beautiful during sunrise and the softer morning hours. Ao Prao, on the west coast, is the island’s most popular location for watching the sun set directly over the sea.

Light

Early mornings and the final hour before sunset usually create the softest and most flattering conditions, while clouds can add gentle tones or a more dramatic atmosphere.

Changing Tides

Koh Samet’s tides do not follow a fixed morning-and-evening pattern. Depending on the date and moon, low tide may reveal wider beaches, rocks, and natural textures, while high tide brings the sea closer to the shore. Before every session, I check the local tide forecast to find the conditions that best suit our chosen location and atmosphere.

Timing

Weekdays are usually quieter and more peaceful, while weekends can feel livelier as more visitors arrive from the mainland. Choosing the right time helps us enjoy the island in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Before every session, I check the weather forecast, tides, sun direction, and local conditions to find the time and location that best match the atmosphere you are dreaming of.

The Photographer

Why should you choose me?

Hello lovers!

I’m Maya Schuetz, a German photographer based near Koh Samet in Rayong, Thailand, photographing couples, proposals, intimate weddings and families.

My work is inspired by Koh Samet’s soft tropical light, white-sand beaches and rocky coastline. I photograph in a natural, calm and atmospheric way, focusing on honest connection, movement and the small moments in between.

Alongside digital photography, I also work with analog film, which brings softness, texture and a timeless feeling to my images. You can learn more about my analog photography here.

Whether you’re planning a surprise proposal, a sunset couple session, a beach wedding or relaxed family photos, I’ll help you find the right time and location for your story.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

Cheers,
Maya
